A roaring fire is always a comfort during the winter months and it looks even better when the hearth is decorated with Brazilian slate.

Brazilian slate is a wonderful choice for everything from bathrooms and kitchens to hearths. It has all the qualities you need from tiles: beautiful, tough, low maintenance and long-lasting. This type of slate is also one of the most affordable types on the market.

Slate in general is a great choice for hearths because it can be cut into a single piece or be formed in a pattern of tiles. Since it’s a natural material, it hardly ever stains and is easy to keep clean.  The material is also highly resistant to heat which means it’s ideal for installation near gas and electric fires. It will fit almost any interior design scheme and fit in with all sorts of colours and textures.

Along with hearths, it’s also a brilliant material for flagstones, window and wall coping, worktops and much more.
