High density means a naturally low porosity rate. Incredibly easy to clean and maintain.
Sourced straight from our partner quarry in Brazil. Consistently flat bases and 20mm thickness calibration mean faster, easier installation for your builder.
Our slabs offer very low water absorption, making them highly resistant to moisture and frost. Its natural riven surface provides excellent slip resistance, safe in wet conditions.
Renowned for its exceptional density and low porosity, Brazilian slate is naturally frost-resistant and exceptionally durable. Its gently riven surface combines natural beauty with practical performance, making it an excellent choice for outdoor spaces in the British climate.
Our premium Brazilian slate paving slabs feature precision-cut square edges and are calibrated to a consistent 20mm thickness. This ensures easier installation, uniform joints and a beautifully refined finish for patios, terraces and outdoor living spaces.
Our Brazilian Black paving slabs are highly celebrated for their consistent, elegant charcoal-black to deep graphite tones. Unlike lower-grade slates that can arrive with drastic tonal variations, orange rust marks, or fading issues, our premium-grade black slate offers a beautifully uniform palette. When sealed, the depth of the charcoal tone enhances slightly, providing a stunning, high-end architectural look that beautifully complements modern garden designs.
Yes. To ensure absolute design continuity across your outdoor spaces, we supply matching Brazilian Black Slate Setts in 100x100mm and 200x100mm dimensions. Because they are sourced straight from the same premium Brazilian reserves as our paving slabs and calibrated to a robust 30mm thickness, you can confidently use them for integrated pathways, decorative borders, or heavy-traffic driveway thresholds alongside your main paving layout.
Our slate features a gently split, tactile riven surface rather than an aggressively rough or uneven texture. Because of the fine grain structure of high-quality Brazilian stone, it splits naturally along flat planes. The result is a surface that retains all the unique character and natural slip-resistance required for wet outdoor spaces, while remaining entirely comfortable underfoot and perfectly flat enough for patio furniture, tables, and planters to sit level.
Thanks to the incredibly dense nature of authentic Brazilian slate, outdoor maintenance is remarkably straightforward. Once installed and sealed with a high-quality impregnating exterior stone sealer, the slabs are fully protected against organic matter, leaf stains, and oils. For day-to-day cleaning, simply sweep away debris and wash down with clean water. For seasonal cleaning, a gentle pressure-wash using a pH-neutral exterior stone cleaner will keep the charcoal tones looking brand new.
Absolutely. Safety is a primary factor in external flooring, and while our slabs are precision-calibrated on the underside for a perfectly flatbed install, the top face retains its authentic, hand-split natural riven finish. This smooth riven texture provides excellent slip resistance and natural grip underfoot, even when wet. It makes our black paving slabs exceptionally safe and highly practical for exposed patios, garden walkways, and family terrace spaces year-round.
By remaining a specialised importer for over 20 years, Brazilistone ensures that every project receives the absolute highest grade of authentic Brazilian slate paired with expert personal service.
Thank you Brazilistone for your great customer service and after sales. Impressive knowledgeable staff and pretty tiles with good prices were the perfect combination for our new build
Olá Brazilistone - As promised I wanted to leave my review of your product here. After it was all laid out both my wife and I are pleased, the driveway looks really great and because the slabs were laid out with a tight grout line it has a very contemporary look about it. So many thanks for the good product and great customer service.
